For generations women have felt the presence of the Divine Feminine or the Goddess when reflecting upon the Statue of Liberty. We know who She is to us individually and collectively. We have been working openly and privately and in these times, the work is expanding even further.
Yesterday, Sheri Barker published an opinion article in The Wild Hunt - Pagan News and Perspectives, which is is an independent, non-profit news agency, funded entirely by the communities it serves. Her piece is titled: Liberty Enlightening the World.
The entire article, complete with a powerfully moving video titled MOTHER OF EXILES - based on the poem The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus, must be read and experienced WORD for WORD.
In an excerpt, Sheri says:
"Since 1886, she has been there on the edge of every new day that America faces, and now, when it seems we need her most, the Goddesses within the statue have awakened. Her true form radiates an aura of power and determination. With her lion-like features and unwavering gaze, she stands as a guardian against the forces of oppression, ready to unleash her wrath upon those who seek to extinguish the flame of freedom. This is no mere metaphor – the Statue of Liberty has become a living, breathing entity, a divine protector who will not rest until the scourge of fascism is purged from the land."
Indeed, the Statue of Liberty is more than a symbol. And yet, as a symbol She not only unites diverse voices, minds, and hearts, she calls us to work for the essence of what She embodies....what she literally stands tall and powerfully for.
So today, ready Sheri Barker's words. Be inspired by the music, and be inspired to continue, expand, or to begin an alignment with the energies and powers at hand.
As Sheri says, "You have been summoned. Do the work you can do."
